Chibi Progress - 1

Continuation of the 'Chibi Progress'. Second day of practice on creating chibis. So far getting the hang of the proportions. It is already becoming easier to visualize what the chibi should look like.

Attempt #:1

Date: July 4th, 2013
Time Taken (Front): 3h
Time Taken (Left): 2h 45m

So far I have been able to improve on keeping the proportions between the left and front views. I am beginning to get an idea on how the hands should be done but still nowhere near there. The shoes also proved to be harder than originally expected.

Chibi Progress - 0

At this time these series of post are intended as a to track my progress while learning how to create chibis. I have always found it to be a good rule to track your progress through a project as it allows you to quantify your progress.

Maybe I will add some useful information about the process eventually, but I just begun the process of learning so it will take before then.

Currently the work is done in Inkscape

I also picked up the following books to help learn the basics:
  • Super-cute Chibis to draw and paint.
  • Chibi and Furry Characters
  • Magical Girls and Faeries
  • Mangamania Shonen
  • How to Draw Anime & Game Characters Vol 1, 2, and 4.

Attempt #: 0

Date: July 3, 2013
Time Taken: 3h 40m

This is the result after the first attempt. Getting the cloth folds was a bit tough. Also, the hands did not come out good at all. Still a lot of room for improvements.

Time Taken: 3h 10m
